2. Tomas Brolin

Perception can be everything. Swedish-born Brolin enjoyed a successful stint with A.C. Parma in the early 90s, and made two appearances in the World Cup in 1990 and 1994. However, when he signed on with Leeds in ’95, it became clear that the Premiere League Club never felt they got who they signed on. After a broken foot, Brolin never regained his previous form and after many arguments over his commitment, he ended up retiring in 1998.
