Fruity Sours-

If you like fruit Lambics, be sure to try some fruitier American wild ales. These are some great ones to check out:

Framboise de Amorosa- The Lost Abbey, Another great sour from the Lost Abbey in San Marcos, CA. It’s not a true Lambic Framboise, but it is a raspberry beer and it is sour. It scored a 96 on Beer Advocate. It’s brewed by taking “Lost and Found” , Lost Abbey’s Trappist style ale and aging it in red wine barrels for a year. They add raspberries to be fermented with it, that’s what makes it sour. Its tangy, a little funky smelling, and oaky. 7.0% ABV

Black Angel- Wicked Weed Brewing. Brewed in North Caroline, Black Angel is an excellent cherry beer. It tastes tart and easy, but it looks very dark. It’s fermented with their own strain of wild yeast, then aged in Four Roses bourbon barrel for a year with cherries and plum. Its complex, sour, sweet and highly drinkable.  6.6% ABV (pictured above)

Cascade Apricot Ale- Cascade Brewing. Oregon Cascade is known for its sours. It’s a sour blonde ale that is aged for 9 months! Then its aged again over ripe and fresh apricots for six months. Its tart and delicious. But you must like apricots, because this beer is seriously Apricot-y. 8.5% ABV
