Try these Oud Bruins if…
…you want to go traditional: Goudenband- Brouwerij Liefmans. 8.0% ABV, a traditional Flander’s Oud Bruin from Liefman’s in Belgium. It’s strong, mildly tart, malty, with a yeasty finish. A true Belgian sour ale, it may take some getting used to, but we highly recommend it.
…you want something tasty and tart: La Folie- New Belgium. Did you know that New Belgium made more than Fat Tire? In fact, they are making some of the tastiest and most innovative beer in the craft game right now. From their Lips of Faith series is La Folie (pictured above). At 7.0% ABV, the beer starts sweet but finishes clean and sour. It’s less intimidating than a Goudenband, it’s a little lighter in alcohol and less of a heavy body. Definitely give this a taste.
…you want to step it up: The Dissident- Deschutes Brewery. From Award winning brewery, Deschutes in Bend, Oregon is The Dissident. It’s 11.4% ABV, aged in pinot noir barrels, made with cherries and dark sugar. It’s sweet, sour, and boozy. This is the beer to have if you’re acclimating to sours easily and want something with a little more body.
