The most venomous fish in the world is the Stonefish. These impressive mimics can change their appearance to look exactly like a stone. Those unlucky enough to step on one of these will experience pain, swelling, and paralysis- an unfortunate condition to experience while in water.
It can survive outside of water for up to 24 hours and inhabits more than half of the Australian coastline. It’s spikes are hard and sharp enough to penetrate thick shoes. The Stonefish is nature’s way of telling you that you’re not welcome in the ocean.
