Famous ice hockey player Darren McCarty began his career in 1992 and ended in 2009. McCarthy played in the NHL for 15 seasons for the Detroit Red Wings as a winger. Sadly, his downfall can’t be blamed on anyone but himself. With two bad habits, gambling and alcohol consumption, things were bound to take a turn for the worst. Aside from his habits, he divorced and got slapped with $6 million in liabilities due to a business partner forging McCarty’s signature so he could join the big money players by making a $650,000 salary. Darren filed for bankruptcy in 2006.
