9. Savage Man Triathlon

Deep Creek Lake, MD–Taking place in September this is one of the later season races that encompaces 65 miles of varying terrain through the Allegany Mountains. Since it’s a triathlon, it includes a swim, a bike, and a run to complete this difficult race. The swimming takes place in the Deep Creek Lake State Park, and is only about a mile and a half. Doesn’t sound as hard as the rest of the course with the biking taking up the majority of the race at 57 miles, followed by a 13 miles run. Piece of cake, right?
