Jason Lee, the star of the television comedy, My Name is Earl, decided to give this name to his son that he had with former fiance Beth Riesgraf. Lee explained to the press that he was inspired by a song performed by Indie rock band Grandaddy, “He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot.”
