Tom posted this photo of the Storybook Castle, Neuschwanstein, in Bavaria, Germany. Construction on the castle began in 1869. It’s nicknamed Storybook because it has been the inspiration for many fairytales. Disney modeled its Sleeping Beauty castle after it. King Ludwig II of Bavaria had the castle built in the hills away from the village to get away from other people, he was very shy. After his death in 1886, the castle became open to the public.
