The sultry singer is known in salsa, rhythm and blues, and hip hop circles. Her unusual Mexican-Australian ethnic roots exposed her to an eclectic collection of musical genres. She started her career in local clubs in the Australian hip hop scene, and began recording singles for various projects before releasing her first full album in 2003. She then regularly hosted a television video show and a national radio station program. In 2008, Jupiter continued to pursue her solo career by moving to Los Angeles. Her music is considered innovative and original, largely because of her use of instruments such as the jaranas and the Latin American harp.
