21) Great Swallower/Black Swallower

This fish is capable of swallowing prey over twice its length and ten times its mass. It disengages its jaw, latches on to the prey’s tail, then ‘walks’ over the meal until it is encased within its obscenely distended stomach. Sometimes, these fish swallow meals so large that they cannot be consumed before decomposition begins to produce large amounts of gas, resulting in its unwitting rise to the surface of the ocean and probable death.
