Imagine a giant woodlouse in sea-going form, and you’ve got a Giant Isopod. These creatures can weigh up to 3.7 lbs and grow up to 14.2 inches long. Much like a woodlouse, they can curl up into a ball to protect their more delicate bits with the hard shell of their back. They are scavengers with a carnivorous appetite. True survivors, they are capable of living up to five years without a meal.
