4) Frilled Shark

Some cryptozoologists blame this shark for ‘sea serpent’ sightings. Resembling an eel more than a shark, it has a lizard like head with a ruffled throat and elongated, serpentine body. It rarely visits the surface, however, and only grows to roughly 6.5 feet in length. It swims like an eel, with a distinctive wriggle and often hovers while awaiting prey before attacking with a snake-like strike.
