This submerged bronze statue of Jesus Christ is located in the Mediterranean Sea off San Fruttuoso on the Italian Riviera. The statue was actually purposely submerged underwater on August 22, 1954 in a spot where the first Italian to use SCUBA gear, Dario Gonzatti, died in 1947.
